Banja Luka Spay and Neuter Project

For years, Lidija Stevanović from Banja Luka has been gathering dog lovers around her. Her only goal is as many spayed and neutered dogs as possible, and as few new generations of stray dogs as possible. The Facebook group she runs, „Banja Luka Spay and Neuter Project“, is made up of a select number of people who, together with Lidija, are trying to change the world for the better. We bring you her letter from today in full, addressed to people, a cry for help for the animals....

I ask all sincere people and animal lovers to join the work of the group and take an active part with a membership fee of 5 KM a month, with the aim of reducing the number of strays.

For all the ill-informed, those unaware of the problem we are in, for all those irresponsible owners whom the authorities and the law play into the hands of, for all those who play God and rule over the lives of living beings, for all those who see spaying and neutering as a bogeyman, something unnatural, while throwing away puppies or kittens is natural, because that is what the old folk say, that the first kittens and puppies get thrown into the water.
For all those who do not think spaying and neutering is the priority in reducing the number of strays, both dogs and cats. Who think that this is an attempt to wipe out these species. Anyone with even a basic grasp of maths will know what I am talking about.
I can proudly say that over the course of its existence, this group, together with all its active members, has prevented billions of new dogs and cats from ending up on the streets of Banja Luka.
