Akita Inu

The Akita Inu (inu means dog in Japanese) was originally used for bear hunting. There are two types of Akita Inu: Japanese and American. They are very devoted and attached to their owners, faithful to the end of their lives. They love their family, and if a stranger is nearby they show distrust and can be aggressive. They have a temperamental nature. They get along well with children, but parental supervision is always recommended. Since they are intelligent, brave, fearless and hyperactive, the dog needs to be given the chance to burn off its energy through various activities, both physical and mental. Females are less quarrelsome and easier to control than males, who may attack another male in their vicinity. You must always keep an Akita under control because it is an extremely strong, fast and agile dog, and everything it does, it does to impress its owner. It is an exceptionally clean dog, so it quickly learns how to live in the house. Early socialisation is essential so that the dog learns the rules of good behaviour in time.
