That little dog, sent by some higher power, protected my family with her life!

I never told anyone about that event (only recently my family). My children were small at the time, and on a visit to my wife's work colleague back then we were given a little black ball of fur, a mixed-breed female, and we named her Maza.

The event that changed my fate and the fate of my family happened two or three months later.

I live on a street that is busy, long and wide, and it tempts drivers to speed. Across the road there were no buildings like there are today, just a meadow, and there were stray dogs.

Maza slipped out through the open gate and ran across to a group of dogs. She was a young female, so there was trouble. I called her firmly (as a command) to run home, which the poor thing did that very instant, and an idiot in a jeep ran her over and drove off. I buried her and hid the truth from the children. That event turned my family's fate around.

Maza prevented a tragedy that was about to happen. A few days later my son ran across the street with a couple of friends, and I was angry that he had crossed without asking and without supervision, so I shouted at the top of my voice: “Home, now!”

Frightened, he immediately ran towards me without looking at the road at all. In a split second I remembered Maza and screamed at him: stop!!!

He froze on the spot. We avoided a tragedy, possibly a fatal one. That little dog, sent by some higher power, protected my family from a great tragedy with her own life. To this day I still think of our Maza and always thank her for the help she gave me.
